Psychic Animals.
We don’t
always realise just how psychic animals are!
There are many instances of animals knowing what is going on when we ourselves do not, and a very recent event in our lives here at Silvermoon has made us extra aware of this.
Recently our old dog Finn, (13 years) who was a beautiful golden coloured Lurcher began to fail in health, and within three months had become a shadow of the beautiful lithe and active dog that he was.
He really didn’t want to go out any more and spend all his time in the house, and more lately in his bed, and the only thing he seemed to live for was food! Eventually of course he could not be bothered with this and when the day came for him to pass away there was a very strange atmosphere in our home.
Usually the three cats come down in the morning (yes of course they sleep upstairs with us!) And loudly demand their breakfast in the kitchen. On that morning and none of the cats came downstairs… odd we thought!
We very soon realised that poor old Finn was actually dying, and he became weaker and weaker. Unfortunately this took longer than we felt he could deal with as he was gasping for breath and obviously uncomfortable tired and becoming distressed. Reluctantly I called the Vet and asked him to ease Finn’s passage to the other side. He could not have been kinder or more concerned!
Our two other younger dogs, Cassie and Poppy sat quietly watching the vet. And neither dog, both of which are good guard dogs and bark when anybody comes near the garden, made a sound…they sat quietly side by side and kept company with their friend.
Everything was very still, and as I looked into the two little faces watching, I knew that they were waiting for Finn to pass and that they knew exactly what was going on.
The end came quickly after that and we sat with him and held him until he finally passed over....
10 minutes later the cats came downstairs and carried on with their day!
